GERMAN AGENCIES WIN A TOTAL OF 30 STATUES AT THE
25TH ANNUAL LONDON INTERNATIONAL AWARDS
(London, 8 November 2010) The 25th LIA judging was held at the Wynn/Encore Hotel in Las Vegas, convening over a ten-day period. The juries, led by their respective Jury Presidents, viewed and scored every entry within their medium ensuring that all the work was judged equally. They concluded with final discussions to determine Grand LIAs, Statue Winners and Finalists.
This year, 19 German companies won a total of 30 Statues at the 2010 London International Awards.
The companies recognised for their superior entries to the 2010 London International Awards include:
HEIMAT Berlin won a Gold Statue, two Silver Statues and a Bronze Statue:
• Gold - Design – Environments/Installations/ Displays for The CNN Tape Art Project
• Two Silvers - Television/Cinema/Online Film - Direction and Cinematography for
Hornbach DIY/Home Improvement Superstores “Hymn”
• Bronze - Television/Cinema/Online Film – Sound Design “Faces of D.I.Y.”
Ogilvy Frankfurt won a Gold Statue and two Silver Statues:
• Gold - Print - Consumer Campaign for Rolling Stone Magazine - Initiative Money for Music
• Silver - Print – Art Direction Campaign for Rolling Stone Magazine - Initiative Money for Music
• Silver - Television/Cinema/Online Film – Music Original for Deutsche Bahn
They also attained two Finalists, one in Design and one in Poster
Scholz & Friends Berlin won a Gold Statue, a Silver Statue and a Bronze Statue:
• Gold - Package Design - Computer Software/Electronics for Panasonic Earphones - "The Earphones Note"
• Silver - Print - Consumer Campaign for Augsburger Allgemeine, Daily Newspaper -

• Bronze - Television/Cinema/Online Film - Music Original for The German Crafts titled “Life Without Craftsmen”.
They attained two Finalists one in Design and one in Print
Serviceplan Munich won a Gold Statue and a Silver Statue:
• Gold - Design - Annual Reports for Bang & Olufsen
• Silver - Design - Direct Mail - Consumer for LEGO
They also attained three Finalists, one in Radio, one in Package Design and one in Digital
Audi AG Ingolstadt won a Gold Statue

They attained a Finalist in Television/Cinema/ Online Film – Animation
Betriebskultur Stuttgart won a Gold Statue
• Radio - Use of Licensed Music for Condom Billy Boy Special Contour “Go Longer”
BUTTER. Berlin/Dusseldorf won a Gold Statue
• Design – Calendars for the EIZO High End Monitors for Medical Imaging Pin-Up Calendar
Grabarz & Partner Hamburg won a Silver Statue and a Bronze Statue:
• Silver - Design - Use of Typography Campaign for IKEA
• Bronze - Radio – Music Adaptation for Tunnel Energy Drink
They also attained five Finalists, one each for Radio, Television/Cinema/ Online Film, Digital,
Non-Traditional and Print
Scholz & Friends Hamburg won a Silver Statue and two Bronze Statues:

BBDO Germany Düsseldorf won a Bronze Statue
• Radio - Public Service/Social Welfare for CBM Christoffel Blindenmission
They also attained two Finalists; one in Television/Cinema/Online Film, the other in Design

They also attained a Finalist in Integrated Campaign
DDB Germany, Berlin won a Bronze Statue
• Non-Traditional – Automotive for Volkswagen Polo “The Car Recycling Drop Box”

Euro RSGC Düsseldorf won a Bronze Statue
• Design - Direct Mail - Business-to-Business for STIHL Handheld Blowers
Leagas Delaney Hamburg won a Bronze Statue
• Television/Cinema/Online Film - Music Original for Skoda Auto
Lukas Lindemann Rosinski Hamburg won a Bronze Statue
• Design for their Self-Promotion entry “www.llr-hamburg.de”
Y&R Frankfurt won a Silver Statue
• Television/Cinema/Online Film - Music Original for Counceling for Sexually Abused or
Threatened Women “Stairs”
The following companies attained Finalist status:
• Gap Films Munich in Television/Cinema /Online Film – Public Service/Social Welfare Campaign
• identis Freiburg in Package Design – Special Packaging
• Scholz & Volkmer Wiesbaden in Digital – Mobile Advertising
“Over the years Germany has consistently done extremely well in the LIA Show,” remarked Barbara Levy, President of LIA. “This year is no exception. Germany garnered the third largest number of statues behind the US and the UK.”
This year for the first time, LIA is honouring the Network of the Year, Agency of the Year and Production Company of the Year. These winners were decided based on the outstanding work chosen by the Juries across all media. The following is the Point System used to determine each honour:
Grand LIA = 5 points
Gold LIA = 4 points
Silver LIA = 3 points
Bronze LIA = 2 points
Finalist = 1 point
Network of the Year is Y&R
Agency of the Year is RCKR/Y&R, London
Production Company of the Year is MJZ
Of the 13,562 submissions, from 79 countries, only four percent (4%) attained Shortlist status. Of those elite selections, only 0.6% won Gold Statues; 0.87% Silver Statues; 1.12% Bronze Statues and 1.33% Finalist. The vast number of submissions reflects the prestige and explosive growth of the London International Awards since its inception in 1986 when 2,600 submissions were considered.
